Nothing is impossible. Whilst some things may be out of our reach for now (looking at you, anti-gravity) any other problem, need or roadblock encountered when working with technology can be resolved - and I love tackling the thorny ones.

I have run teams ranging from ‘just me’ to full-scale technology departments, tackling such projects as designing efficient, low cost data storage systems or crash priority website re-platforming - and have always delivered successful solutions, whatever the requirements.

My current role finds me at Amplience, a SAAS dynamic content provider. Working directly with the CEO and CTO, this role involves leading the Horizon 1 development of a multi-million-asset data management and delivery platform, implementing and delivering a product roadmap that addresses key business and customer requirements whilst maintaining scalability and performance.

Prior to this I spent 5 years working at The Cambridge Satchel Company as Information Technology Manager and Senior Product Owner. Taking a leading role in the development and operation of the company's entire technological ecosystem, I had the opportunity to play a part in transforming the company from a small ecommerce retailer into a global multichannel brand.

I had the pleasure of working with Chloe whilst at Cambridge Satchel and can't recommend her highly enough. Chloe is super smart and one of the most effective and nicest people I have had the pleasure of working with. Chloe uses her ability to cut through complexity to generally over deliver whilst hitting deadlines and always having an eye on what is right for the business.

Jonny Wooldridge - CTO, The Cambridge Satchel Company

In my career I have have the opportunity lead many projects, including:

The development of a completely bespoke and customized ERP system

The record-breaking 56 day creation & roll out of a Demandware global e-Commerce store

Personally building an iOS app to enable despatch workers to interact with an ERP system - deployed in time to fill a high priority need during pre & post-Christmas sales.

The Cambridge Satchel Company's ‘The Web is What You Make of It’ advertising collaboration with Google UK

These experiences, amoungst others, have bred an ability and drive to perfect all projects, large or small.

Solutions

One Should Always...

Broaden Their Horizons

Always make an effort to grow in new areas - the broader one's experience, the greater the flexibility.

Be Adaptable

Constantly learn and absorb new skills and information - one cannot make an educated decision without all the facts.

Think Logically

Always approach problems from multiple angles - for every option A that doesn’t work there is an option B (or C) that does.

Focus on What Matters

Cut through to the heart of an issue - solve the issue at hand, don't try to reinvent the wheel.

I specialise in both managing large scale infrastructure and datasets, leading software development projects and have concentrated my skills on becoming adept at hands on development, assessing operational requirements and infrastructure implementation.

Before working at the Cambridge Satchel Company I collaborated on the 'Xenonauts' computer game and founded a company making iOS app store games. I enjoy sharing my work environment with a tight knit, multi-disciplinary team who share my love of tea and chocolate!

In my spare time I enjoy working on indie games, hiking, gardening and board games with friends.

A truely successful product is defined by it's users; listen to their needs, discover their biggest pain points, then address those that will most help. It is always better to focus on providing a simple and accessible user experience for the most pressing goals, than alienating your user base by spreading yourself too thin trying to fix everything at once.
